In such challenging times we only seem to hear mostly about the bad news stories at the moment. At makehappen we are pleased to be able to share a good news story with you which happened just before the lockdown in early March.
We received an email from Mr Leslie Milnes who is a resident in the town of Dewsbury, where makehappen are currently installing FTTP networks for our client Fibre Nation. Mr Milnes was very complimentary towards makehappen and particularly to Connor Walch and his team who have been carrying out the works in the area where Mr Milnes lives. Unfortunately, Mr Milnes dog ‘Brandy’ had strayed away from home and was wondering the streets alone. Mr Milnes lives alone and is not able to walk for long distances and was concerned that Brandy would not be able to find his way home.
Connor and his team who were working in the area on the day noticed that Brandy was alone and was clearly lost. Connor took care of Brandy and managed to contact Mr Milnes as Brandy was wearing a collar which had contact details. So for Brandy it was a short journey in the makehappen crew van and Connor managed to reunite Brandy with his owner. It was really kind not only of Connor and his team but also for Mr Milnes who took the time to contact us and share his gratitude. When we contacted Mr Milnes to ask if he would be happy for us to visit him in person, he was more than happy and it was nice to see that Brandy remembered Connor too !!
At makehappen we are always happy to receive such positive feedback and this was the second time in one month that Connor and his team had received praise from the residents of Dewsbury.
As recognition, Connor has himself been made employee of the month for March 2020 and both Connor and his whole team received a small gift from makehappen as a reward and a thank you for their good work which is greatly appreciated.
Connor and his team, along with the rest of the makehappen team are continuing as key workers to build & deliver the FTTP networks in Dewsbury, Harrogate & York alongside our client Fibre Nation, whilst respecting the social distancing guidelines from the government in these current challenging times. Let’s hope we can bring you more positive stories such as this one in the near future.
Stay safe everyone !!
